Network of Social Help Desks for Immigrants “Punto Migranti”
Since 2007, Lai-momo has been in charge of organising and running the Network of Social Help Desks which provide information and orientation to immigrant citizens, as well as to Sinti and gypsy populations. This service is known as “Punto Migranti”, and takes place throughout the “Pianura Est” district of Bologna.
Social help desks were set up in each of the 15 sub-areas of the “Pianura Est” socio-sanitary district, which has a population of around 145,000 inhabitants. The help desks were set up to give information to both immigrant and native citizens about the system of services and information on the public and private resources which are available in the area. They also provide multilingual communication materials for citizens, regarding the use of these services and of cultural mediation services.
Dates: September 2007 – ongoing.
Funding: Social District of Pianura Est (Bologna).
